Every jefa knows that the rest is just as important as the work, so join Latinas in Tech Canada for our first ever [virtual] Wellness Night! We’re bringing in some amazing Latinas and taking time as a community to relax and have some fun over Zoom. We’ll have Maria José, of MJ Zumba, kicking us off with a dance party to your favourite Latin hits at 5:30pm EST, and Marisol helping us cool down and relax with a Stretch and Release class at 6:00pm EST. MJ Zumba Bio: Hi I’m MJ or MaJo! A Costa Rican – Canadian living in Ottawa and working for the Canadian Government. I’m passionate about teaching and empowering others to thrive both in my 9-5 and at MJ Zumba. Having FUN is the only thing that matters in this class and my goal is to leave you feeling like we just had UNA TREMENDA FIESTA. I will be using nonverbal cues to guide you, yet this is your dancefloor so just enjoy. Keep in mind you do not need to look like me or anyone else just party, move, hydrate, and smile. Marisol Bio: I am Marisol, a Mexican fitness instructor and a wellness consultant with over 15 years of experience. My natural talent and unique personality has allowed me to expand my career to where it is today. I previously worked as a fitness instructor and choreographer for the famous French corporation Club Méditerranée, commonly known as Club Med. Where I discovered how fitness and dance perfectly combined my passions. I moved to Canada 10 years ago and have been working as a fitness instructor and Wellness consultant ever since. I do currently work as a manager at a Physiotherapy Clinic and as a part time fitness instructor for the same facility. I enjoy teaching all ages and fitness levels. My Stretch and Release class is perfect if you are experiencing low energy, stress, tension or just want to improve your flexibility. It’s a beginner yoga-style class that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm.
