Latinas in Tech Canada are so excited to be hosting the first-ever event in Ottawa! Join us for networking, snacks and a fireside chat with our special guest Gabriela de Luca, Technical Recruiter at MongoDB, for tips on getting hired for your next job in tech!
Meet our special guest:
Gabriela de Luca:
Gabriela is a Brazilian living in Canada. She is a Talent Acquisition expert focused on remote work and has worked with tech companies such as Shopify and MongoDB. Gabi also offers mentorship to individuals and companies, pro bono 1:1 sessions, and coach sessions at Impact Hub Ottawa. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business and two Master’s focused on outsiders’ careers and philosophy of history. Gabi’s passion is helping immigrants to Canada find careers in tech, and she is excited to share her insider tips and tricks from the recruitment world with you.
Meet your hosts:
Jael Zambrano: A proud Canadian-Venezuelan with many years of experience creating safe spaces where Latinx and other under-represented folks come together to inspire and support one another. It quite literally is her Gasolina (IYKYK). Today, in her day job at Uber Jael manages internal and external communications for Engineering DEI around the globe. Ask Jael about: entering tech, Uber, Global DEI, or personal branding!
Pegleess Barrios Sánchez: Pegleess Barrios Sánchez is a Talent Management Partner at Pinterest. Of proud Venezuelan heritage, Pegleess felt it her mission to ensure Latinx people are not only represented in Tech, but included, valued, and thriving. As a member of the Latinas in Tech Canada leadership team, Pegleess offers her facilitation skills towards workshops, an active online community, and community partnerships to lovingly support Latinx talent, and celebrate our cultures. Ask Pegleess about: working in HR, Pinterest, or her radio show!
