About the Role

Aclima is seeking a stellar Technical Product Manager, Platform to drive the vision and strategy of the core data collection, storage, and service platform underlying Aclima’s next generation of environmental tools.

You will seize the opportunity to translate years of R&D combined with the excitement and needs of our partners into a robust platform. As Technical Product Manager, Platform you will be responsible for the architectures, pipelines, databases, internal tools and APIs used for the ingestion, calibration, verification, qualification and aggregation of hyperlocal air quality data collected from thousands of sensors.

You will:

  • Refine and implement a user-centric platform product strategy, develop a platform roadmap, and technical/feature specifications based on internal and external user needs, technical trends, and anticipated platform capabilities.
  • Work across functional groups including sensor engineering, hardware, firmware, backend, data engineering, data science to build the highest consensus, collaboration, and creativity.
  • Balance multiple competing priorities from a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders to consistently deliver the greatest value for the business.
  • Manage platform product life-cycle from inception to execution, iteration, and beyond.
  • Be the internal champion of the platform with early users and partners to assess fit, features, usability, and value.
  • Maintain and manage the platform product roadmap to ensure alignment with company vision, launch timelines, and business objectives.
  • Partner closely with other Product Managers, Engineering, Business Development, Design and other teams across Aclima to understand their vision, objectives, and opportunities, and ensure the Aclima’s platform is able to deliver the needed performance and services.

Qualifications

  • Proven results:  3+ years of product management experience, shipping products with deeply technical solutions
  • Leadership: Experience managing across cross-functional teams using Agile practices or similar.
  • Big data: Experience managing complex data sets, implementing ETL/data pipelines, developing data infrastructure. Google Cloud Platform experience is a plus.
  • Passion for innovation: A strong track record of delivering innovative product experiences.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit: A desire to work efficiently in a fast-paced, start-up environment and do whatever it takes to get the job done. A bias towards action, pragmatism and fast-decision making will lead to success in this role at Aclima.
  • Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated use of written, presentation and verbal skills to drive team enthusiasm for products and gain stakeholder buy-in
  • Working at all levels: Proven ability to drive strategic thinking about the product direction as well as focus on the executional details
  • Team player: Build strong relationships with the cross-functional team while serving as the team lead to drive results
  • Data-informed decisions: Know how and when to access and analyze data to make business decisions, balancing thoughtful research with the need for timeliness

Bonus

  • Engineering background in IoT data systems, or remote sensing networks.
  • Direct experience working with Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with turning an internal platform into an external monetizable product.
  • Graduate degree in relevant technical disciplines
