About the Role

Aclima is seeking a smart and motivated Business Development Analyst to support our public sector sales efforts. You will work with top sales, BD, and procurement experts to coordinate and execute high-profile deals with leading government agencies, including local, regional, state, and federal opportunities. You will be responsible for helping to generate and coordinate pricing, proposals, prospect outreach, and keeping all deals up to date in Aclima’s CRM tool. The ideal candidate will be dependable, driven, detail-oriented, and disciplined. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced multitasking work environment. We seek individuals who lean into execution, and pride themselves on excellent outcomes.

You will:

  • Interface with the VP of BD, and sales associates to execute workflows related to deal development, including but not limited to proposals, pricing, budget research, market analysis, and initial invoicing.
  • Coordinate with the business development team to track sales opportunities, and coordinate resources needed to pursue them.
  • Project-manage proposal generation, and grant submission efforts with customers and partners.
  • Follow up with prospects on sales material deliverables.
  • Help manage complex multi-stakeholder follow-up and track those outreach efforts.
  • Represent and be an ambassador for Aclima.
  • Track budget cycles, and research government budgets, and help connect the dots back to federal grant opportunities.
  • Manage follow-up, help create materials, presentations, proposals, coordinate demonstration projects, and ensure BD activities are being executed smoothly.
  • Help coordinate the handoff from BD/Sales to Customer Success.
  • Be a trusted resource for the customer, ensuring seamless transition from prospect to satisfied customer.
  • Ensure prospects are delighted with their experience engaging with Aclima, regardless of whether they become customers or not.


  • Proven:  At least 2-3 years of experience in business development, preferably at a startup or consulting firm winning large government contracts.
  • On the ball: Ultra responsive and obsessive about owning outcomes, driving communication, follow through, and execution.
  • Tech Savvy: Mastery of the latest tools. Hubspot, Miro, GIS, Asana, Google Apps
  • Unmatched work ethic: A ‘whatever it takes’ attitude to getting the work done.
  • Keen customer empathy: Knowledge and understanding of the government customer, and ability to translate that into effective sales efforts and deliverables
  • Sharp business instincts: Self-motivated and an ability to see around corners, working efficiently in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Obsessive about excellence: Desire to elevate the company though excellent materials and follow through.
  • Outstanding communication skills: Demonstrated mastery of written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player: Strong will to increase capacity by leaning into the work, and building strong collaborative relationships across teams.
  • Detail-oriented: Meticulous attention to detail, knowing they all add up to excellence.
  • Data-informed decisions: Strong tacit judgment combined with data to make business decisions, balancing thoughtful research with the need for decisiveness


  • MBA or Graduate Degree
  • A thorough understanding of government procurement
