JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION
Responsible for building and maintaining real estate analytics, automated valuation models (AVMs) and associated analyses within Black Knight’s Data and Analytics Division. Creates, develops and programs mathematical models of real estate valuations, trends and risks. Uses classical statistical and machine learning methodologies with multiple public and proprietary data sources to develop AVMs for the residential real estate market.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for building, analyzing, testing and calibrating AVMs.
Responsible for designing and executing model performance monitoring requirements for AVMs.
Designs test cases and test applications for AVM production systems to ensure business needs are met and all models and analytics are correctly implemented.
Works closely with the Product Management and Software Engineering teams on the product development of AVMs.
Provides support to the Sales team and consulting to clients using these products.
Performs ad hoc analyses as needed and assists product lines managers with analytical projects.
Partners with business line managers to research industry best practices and provide thought leadership in real estate analytics.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Master’s degree is preferred, PhD is a plus.
Experience in AVM modeling and with major AVM products is a plus
Experience working with a big data platform, including business intelligence and reporting functionality, is a plus
Working experience in financial institutions and the mortgage or real estate industries is a plus
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Extensive knowledge of statistics and data science, including machine learning, as well as the behavior of residential real estate market markets
Knowledge of real estate, mortgage and economic data
Proficiency in SQL, Python, R and C#
Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply these to practical applications
Ability to solve complex technical problems, assimilate information rapidly and work under time constraints
Team player with the willingness to collaborate with other technical and non-technical partners
Client-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills

Financial Engineering Consultant III
Advanced professional level role. Works with financial models of significant complexity using advanced mathematical, analytical or econometric tools. Defines and discerns key aspects of problems that require intricate analysis and research, and develops highly complex solutions within a broad technical and business context. Defines and discerns key aspects of problems that require analysis and research, and develops a solution within a broad technical and business context of significant impact across multiple business units. Works on varied, complex projects that require in-depth skill in multiple technical environments and multiple business units. Works on multiple concurrent projects as a project team member or frequently as a project lead. May coach and/or mentor more junior technical staff. Typically requires eight (8) or more years of related work experience in developing mathematical formulas, financial models and computer programs to create complex models of market trends and risks. Master’s degree and/or related professional certifications are preferred for this role.
Although target pay range may vary by work location, a representative pay range for Colorado residents is: $100,000 – $155,000. Eligible to participate in medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance and disability insurance, 401(k) plan and employee stock purchase plan. Eligible to participate in the discretionary annual performance bonus.
