Team Overview
The Business Continuity Team (BCM) is part of the broader Resilience, Safety and Security team (RSS) which contributes to the continued success of BlackRock through strategic solutions and business services that provide each employee with an efficient, resilient, safe and high-performance work experience.

Enterprise Resilience, Safety and Security is comprised of four key functions – Business Continuity Management (BCM), Disaster Recovery (DR), Security and Safety. These teams have the responsibility for ensuring a risk-based management approach to protect BlackRock staff and visitors, reputation, physical and information assets and operations from disruptive events.

The BCM team is responsible for ensuring the resilience of our operations through the documentation and analysis of risks, the creation of plans to mitigate those risks and the exercising of those plans. The team is also responsible for providing a crisis response framework that is used to coordinate activities during disruptive events.

Position Purpose
This role will provide direct support to Business Continuity Management program to ensure we maintain a business resiliency, preparedness and response environment in the event of a disaster.

This role will be responsible for working with other members of the BCM team to ensure the delivery of the BCM program.

This role will report to the Americas East Head of BCM and will support regional global operations as required.

As a member of the global BCM team there may be opportunities outside of the region to support the overarching global program implementation or assist other regional implementations. A solid candidate for this position will be able to deliver quality and quantity for both the program and business functions it serves in region and is highly adaptable in crisis situations.

Your key responsibilities:
BCM Planning

Develop, implement and maintain business continuity planning in line with global standards and local regulations with business functions in the region.
Conduct periodic Business Impact Analyses, identify recovery requirements and work with the business to develop and implement recovery plans in the event of a business disruption.
Ensure plans are completed qualitatively and in-line with BCM policy and standard requirements.
Ensure recovery strategies are aligned with business requirements and ‘fit for purpose.’
Find opportunities for strategic improvement or mitigation of business interruption and other risks caused by business, regulatory, or industry-specific change initiatives.
Manage and support annual business recovery exercises, which may include Dedicated Recovery Sites (DRS), Remote Access, Alternate Office, and Work Transfer, depending on function and location.
Ensure exercise remediation/gaps are acted upon and closed in a timely manner and ensure exercise reports are completed in-line with global standards.
Crisis Management
Perform ongoing monitoring of disruptive incidents across the region and coordinate with regional and country stakeholders to ensure appropriate response and communications.
Assist in the coordination of Crisis Management invocations and provide support during emergencies, incidents or crises that require the activation of business continuity plans.
Develop and implement Crisis Management training and tabletop exercises in the region.
Ensure Crisis Team Memberships are appropriately maintained in-line with global Policy and standards.
Manage the emergency notification system and ensure that crisis management staff are appropriately covered by this system.
Education & Awareness
Ensure businesses are proficient in updating business continuity plans, including the use of our BCM planning system.
Coordinate plan walkthroughs and tabletop exercises to raise BCP awareness
Qualification, Experience & Key Competencies:
Bachelors or higher degree (or 2+ years of related job experience)
Strong analytical and data visualization skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Team player and ready to learn attitude
Willing to provide support during a crisis 24/7/365, if needed
02+ years of working experience in BCM, Security, MIS and Project Management (preferred)
Experience with Security or Health & Safety teams a plus
