Customer Solutions Engineer
About the role:
You will be a key contributor to our Customer Success team. You’ll be a field-facing engineer who will build and document utilities and automation for internal and customer use.
You’ll focus on technical problems and on integrating customer environments with the Chronosphere platform. You’ll collaborate with the field and CS teams to dig into customer issues, and come to a resolution if possible. When necessary you’ll shepherd problems to resolution with the help of the internal engineering teams.
Work independently in an interrupt driven environment.
Work in a cross functional environment to bring field engineering obstacles to resolution.
Demonstrate a desire to tackle hard technical problems with little input.
Document, and be comfortable presenting, creative solutions to customers and internal teams.
Take ownership of technical obstacles, gather needed resources, and see the problem through to the end.
Develop one-off utilities and applications to integrate Chronosphere’s observability platforms into the customer’s environment.
Build out customized Prometheus and StatsD import utilities
What you will achieve:
In your first 30 days, you’ll shadow other CS team members. You’ll learn about our product, our customers, our team, and see a day in the life firsthand.
After 30 days, you’ll start to take customer cases, this way you can see first hand how the customers use the platform.
After 90 days, you will take up TAM requests and own projects.
5+ Years experience in an engineering or related role.
Strong technical, analytic and problem solving skills.
Desire and ability to learn on your feet.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain scripted utilities.
Demonstrated ability to build and document automated tools as part of a framework or standalone.
Technical understanding, and experience, with one or more of the following technologies.
Various IAC tools such as Terraform.
Nice to have:
BS in computer science or related field in lieu of experience.
Experience building reliable internal and field utilities.
Previous experience working directly with customers.
Experience with monitoring or observability solutions.
