About the role:

Chronosphere is looking for an outstanding technical content writer. You love writing about cloud native-related topics and will maintain a high standard for quality and effectiveness. You are able to take a technical deep dive on the technology in our space and create compelling content that helps a technical audience understand our product and how it solves their obstacles. This is a great opportunity to have a highly visible impact at a fast growing startup.

In This Role You Will:

Maintain blog content, calendar and stable of authors (internal and external) ensuring that we are posting quality and varied content on a consistent basis (50-60% of your time).
Write, edit, curate marketing technical and non-technical content in addition to blogs, such as contributed news articles, ebooks, infographics, whitepapers, customer success stories, website content, marketing newsletters, etc.
Write technical and non-technical content to support demand and lead generation campaigns (i.e., landing page copy, nurture emails, etc).
Write social content to support social media campaigns.
Work with product marketing, technical, sales, and other internal SMEs to source material used in writing compelling technical and non-technical content.
Ensure content supports SEO and social strategies.
Conform with internal writing style guides.
Ensure content—yours and content written by other authors you are responsible for—meets deadlines and internal standards.

You Must Have:

Bachelor’s degree in tech, communications, journalism, English, or related field preferred
2-3 years of experience writing content for a technical audience
Portfolio showcasing writing samples demonstrating ability to write technical content for a technical audience
Experience shepherding content from ideation to publication
Adept with SEO best practices
Creativity and the ability to develop original content
Ability to develop content that provokes engagement
Ability to edit other work by other authors, technical and non-technical, with authority and understanding

Nice to Have:

Experience with Wordpress or other CMS systems preferred
Experience with Asana or other project management systems preferred
Experience writing for the technical

You will play a critical role in making content run like a machine, especially but not limited to technical content:

We have new and existing authors continually volunteering to contribute blogs, especially technical blogs—our blog content and bench of authors both need constant nurturing and management to ensure we meet our goals of cadence and publishing quality content.
The Demand Gen team runs campaigns that are constantly evolving and we need to make sure they have the new high-quality content they need.
Product and feature launches happen throughout the year and we need to ensure we are providing content that communicates what’s new and why it matters and what problems are being solved.
The sales team and opportunities are constantly growing so we need to be nimble and ensure we are providing content that helps sales do their jobs.
We are a startup and still getting our name out there. The content team needs to be part of the equation that helps make Chronosphere a household name and communicates how we uniquely solve observability obstacles for customers. For example, SEO is a priority so we will contribute SEO-optimized thought leadership content (technical and non-technical) as part of our SEO strategy.
