About the role

Chronosphere is looking for a Director of Technical Marketing and Evangelism to lead and grow the brand new technical marketing function. As an early member of the marketing team, this is a great opportunity for a builder who wants to have an outsized impact on the business. You will be a key player on the team driving efforts to build, launch and market the Chronosphere product.

You will be instrumental in defining marketing programs that drive demand and enable sales and marketing. You will also work closely with sales, product management, engineering and other internal marketing functions to oversee internal and external product marketing activities.

You will
Define and execute the strategy, content, assets, and marketing plans to communicate the benefits of Chronosphere to technical audiences, namely central observability teams and SREs
Create technical marketing materials, including demo videos and scripts, technical blogs and whitepapers, contributed articles, explainer videos, etc. to build Chronosphere’s reputation as a thought leader in observability.
Run technical webinars and workshops aimed at Site Reliability Engineers and Central Observability Managers
Submit CFPs and speak at conferences and on podcasts
Build out team of technical and developer marketers
Support the field on critical deals
Become the expert on the market, customers and buying behavior
Become a product expert on the Chronosphere product

You have
5+ years of domain-specific knowledge within cloud-native environments and SaaS
8+ years proven technical product marketing and/or transferable skill set
Proven track record of building teams from the ground-up as a player/coach
Knowledge and expertise around devops, observability, and cloud-native (containers, microservices)
Strong writing and analysis skills – Ability to collect and analyze market and competitor data to influence and support product strategy
Technical aptitude and intellectual curiosity
Extreme focus on fastest, most efficient routes from opportunity to revenue
Strong team player, results oriented, metrics driven and capable of working in a fast paced, changing environment.
Excellent communication skills to create Chronosphere content and collateral (including white papers, data sheets, web copy, social media copy, presentations, demo scripts, case studies, etc.). An ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits and attention to detail is critical
Ability to think strategically and deliver on tactical requirements
Highly organized and able to prioritize projects in a dynamic environment
Experience working with the public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, etc) is a plus
