Sales Engineering Manager, West
About the role:
Chronosphere is looking for an experienced sales engineering manager who is seeking their next opportunity in a rapidly growing environment. Our SE team is critical to achieving success in opportunities with sophisticated and highly technical observability teams who empower engineering organizations that drive and disrupt their respective industries.
In this role, you will:
Build, manage and enable high performing SE teams to ensure the success of the business
Facilitate the definition and standarization of best practices for the SE function
Strategically grow and develop your team as individuals and as a whole
Manage team workload and opportunity priorities to ensure successful delivery of technical pilots
Balance short- and long-term collaborative initiatives across sales, marketing, engineering, product and people
Provide pre-sales support for all sales activities as a player/coach.
Help build account strategies and execution plans to exceed revenue targets
Support your team and customers through complex evaluations that lead to positive outcomes
You must have:
4+ years of success managing SE teams
Previous accomplishments in successfully hiring and onboarding high performing sales engineer ICs
Strong understanding of SaaS sales with a technical buyer
Demonstrated success thriving in undefined environments and situations
Technical credibility including the ability to technically review and push the account team specific to the opportunity’s sales stage
An analytical approach to co-ownership of sales execution
Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to rapidly shifting priorities in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
Nice to have:
Knowledge of the monitoring and observability space
Experience selling to a cloud native engineering organizations
Strong and flexible opinions on building sales engineering teams – including those that you have not been able to execute on before
Ability to tap a broad and deep network for recruiting
Proven to thrive in a rapidly growing and loosely defined startup environment
What you will achieve:
Continue to hire, grow and develop the SE team to fuel the growth of the business
Reduce ramp time for new SE hires – target 2 months
Coach and enable your team in closing opportunities: $100k – $2M+
