Principal Associate Scientist, Analytical Development

Website Codiak BioSciences

Engineering precision exosomes

Codiak BioSciences, a global leader in extracellular vesicle based therapeutic development, is seeking a talented analytical scientist with broad knowledge of and hands-on experience using various bioanalytical techniques to characterize biological molecules. Experience with chromatography and immunoassays (ELISA/AlphaLISA) is required, and experience with mass spectrometry, dynamic light scattering, and/or nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA) is a plus. This is a unique opportunity to work in the enormously promising field of exosome-based therapeutics with the potential to transform the drug delivery paradigm, as this role will contribute intellectually, as well as experimentally, to the process development of a novel exosome production platform. This individual will plan, develop, and execute experiments for the physicochemical analysis and structural characterization of biological molecules including proteins, lipids, and/or glycans to support the development of a novel platform focused on exosome biotherapeutics. This person would also likely be involved in transferring assays to Quality Control, so prior experience in that area is favorable. Responsibilities will include working in an analytical laboratory and applying an array of diverse analytical methodologies. A background in analytical chemistry/biochemistry is required. Understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or exosome biology and characterization is a plus. As part of an early-stage company, the candidate will also be uniquely exposed to the full range of company activities, including ample opportunities to participate in regulatory filings, scientific conferences, publishing manuscripts, and patenting discoveries. Codiak is conveniently headquartered in a brand-new designer facility in Cambridge (Alewife area) with easy access by train or car with available parking.
