The Role

The Technical Writer will be responsible for educating and enabling Hopin’s users through written content. This role will include writing for both the knowledge base and Hopin Learn, Hopin’s customer education curriculum. This person should be comfortable providing detailed instructions for using a complex tech platform, as well as writing high level product overview descriptions to be used in video content.


Technical Writing

Research, outline, write and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand feature and product releases
Produce high-quality technical content that is accurate, clear, concise, and effective
Maintain and update the knowledge base to ensure it has accurate information in line with Hopin’s rapidly evolving products
Project manage the identification, authoring, editing, and publishing of new content
Develop systems and processes to efficiently manage the Knowledge Base
Write scripts for proactive training videos that will be part of Hopin’s customer education curriculum

Knowledge Base Strategy

Ensure customers are able to find and access knowledge base articles for multiple brands and that they address key customer concerns
Develop and maintain a style guide to ensure consistency across written product support content
Expand the usage of the Knowledge Base to proactively answer customer questions
Analyze Knowledge Base trends to understand customer needs, identify areas of improvement, and share feedback with Hopin’s product team
Establish, track, and report on critical metrics for Hopin’s Knowledge Base usage


2-4 years of technical writing experience
1 year at a SaaS company
Experience with Zendesk a plus
Experience with an Learning Management System, Skilljar a plus
Nice to Have

Analytical, project management, and collaborative skills
Event Industry experience – physical, virtual, hybrid
Familiarity with live streaming tools and service
