Your opportunity
The Growth UI (GUI) team builds experiences into the product that allow administrators to view how much they’re using the New Relic platform. We are in a ground-breaking phase of building out new experiences for our largest customers and partners.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us! We primarily build front-end web applications and deal with modern frameworks and libraries such as ReactJS and GraphQL. Down the road, we’ll also be building out APIs to stitch together our platform’s data for the front-end.

  • Be a voice in deciding how to improve our users’ daily workflows
  • Produce highly performant and flexible user interfaces.
  • Build thoughtful, high-quality code that is easy to read and maintain.
  • Mentor other engineers on the team and beyond, and feel passionate about improving software by constant iteration with your team.
  • Select the best frameworks and tools needed to get the job done quickly, while also optimizing for codebase stability, product stability, and target use case growth.
  • Collaborate with designers and other UI engineers across the company to learn from others and to ensure you stay up to date on the company’s UI best practices.
  • Ship incrementally and often, helping the team to maintain a constant flow of feedback on its work.
  • Participate in a one-week on-call rotation to support our services. We bake stability into everything we do to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
  • Maintain a work-life balance that enables you to thrive by using unlimited flex time-off, twelve weeks of paid parental leave, and our DataNerds4Good volunteer time off program!

This role requires

  • Experience working within the constraints of a design framework.
  • Experience integrating UIs with data from service endpoints.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL and Apollo.
  • Significant exposure to back-end development, particularly designing and integrating APIs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of UI testing methodologies.
  • Experience with technical mentorship and support for helping level-up the skills of colleagues on the team.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills.
