We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to apply their skills and talent to build scalable and sustainable solutions, utilizing best engineering practices and latest Cloud technologies in an agile, team-oriented and collaborative environment. We build and support amazing user experiences while meeting the needs of the business. As a senior engineer on the Product Development team, you’ll work with a multifaceted group of engineers as peers or in partner teams who build and support our product creation process.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

As part of this team, you will be collaborating with engineers to design, develop, and implement next generation Digital Product Creation capabilities and services. With the changes in retail, you will be working on enabling new features and delivering new tools. You will be building new features in a cloud-based architecture using object-oriented programming systems/database concepts in an agile environment. You will work directly with business partners to innovate and design for changing product creation environment.

Focus area will include Product Innovation and Consumer Creation domains.

•    Architect and implement high-quality solutions that demonstrate maintainable, clean code for new and existing applications. Document and diagram where appropriate.
•    Work in a distributed/cloud-based environment (AWS preferred) with high transaction volumes
•    Practice full DevOps ensuring a culture of testing and releasing software on AWS continuously using automation and monitoring
•    Deliver software in a Scrum development process
•    Partner with other teams to ensure the service ecosystem is loosely coupled and scalable

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

You will work with world-class talent of people and be part of the Product Innovation and Consumer Creation team, reporting to the Engineering Director. This role will be working in an Agile Scrum environment with support of an assigned SCRUM Master, dedicated product management, and a team of quality engineers to develop new capabilities, enhancements, and provide ongoing maintenance.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING?

•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience
•    Demonstrate leadership by coaching, mentoring, and training others; be a subject matter expert
•    Partner with UX team to bring their vision to a reality that wows the customer
•    Embrace a lifelong learning mindset by engaging in group and self-driven training activities to keep current with changes to technologies, patterns, and practices
•    5+ years’ experience using JavaScript/NodeJS across back end and front end.
•    3+ years’ developing in microservice architecture, domain driven design, and RESTful APIs
•    Experienced with NoSQL to ensure data storage is designed for security, reliability, availability, maintainability, and performance
•    Knowledgeable with version control systems (Git) and issue tracking tools (JIRA)
•    Work in a distributed/cloud-based environment (AWS preferred) with high transaction volumes
•    Experience with CI/CD and related tools (Jen¬¬kins)
•    Proficient in performing technical code reviews and pair programming
•    Experience using Java
•    Experience in designing and building serverless architectures
•    Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and architecture patterns
•    Ability to define solutions, provide estimates on effort and risk, and evaluate technical feasibility
•    Proficient with modern build strategies, continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Proven track record of solving problems and getting things done in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment
•    Ability to work in cross-functional teams and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
•    Retail industry experience is a nice bonus
