Job Description Summary:

The team is accountable for the performance of the website globally, and working with our sales, marketing and product partners we aim to produce top-quality experiences for prospects and our customers, regardless of where they are or what they come to the site to do.

The team is formed as a product portfolio team, with the aim of building a high- performing, durable structure. This will enable us, and any future incarnations of the team, to manage the experience and maximize value for our customers, the company and shareholders for some time to come.

We are looking at prospects and customers firstly through a segment lens. Consequently, we have Product Manager roles that align to those segments – Consumer, Small Business (including Partners) and Enterprise, Platforms & Marketplaces. Each Product Manager is accountable for customer and business outcomes in their area, and for identifying and executing a program of work that will drive those outcomes. We also have a Platform Product Manager, who is accountable for providing our engineering partners with business requirements for platform development, as well as driving horizontal efforts that affect all segments (eg: Globalization strategy, Platform strategy, Site Performance improvements, etc.) .In addition, we have an SEO Product Manager, a web lead for our International Markets, and an Integration and Strategic Development PM. The SEO role is accountable for setting our SEO strategy, then working with our engineering and content partners to ensure it is executed to plan, with a view to maximizing the opportunities in natural search. The web lead for International is responsible for scaling our approach to all non-US markets, and the Integration & Strategic Development PM will oversee all site integrations (usually following M&A activities) as well as other strategic projects.

In addition, there are dedicated teams in the engineering, content, design and business analytics organizations that support us in executing against our platform and experience backlogs, again all with a view to achieving the customer and business outcomes we have identified as priorities.

Job Description:

We are looking a Product Manager for, to help build our web experience for customers globally. You will be focused on driving growth and engagement by building high-quality customer experiences on mobile and web. We need someone with strong accountability and cross functional leadership, highly developed business and analytical skills, and experience both building products and developing content to drive content marketing, SEO and online acquisition and activation activities.

This is a strategic role focused on one of three customer segments (consumer, small and medium business, enterprise) with a view to developing the tools and information they need to make a fully informed decision when considering PayPal as their payment provider of choice. There is also a requirement to support existing customers, providing information and experiences that help them make the most out of their relationship with PayPal as they continue to manage finances in their personal lives or businesses.

You will define and explore the problem space and define the customer facing strategy. You will also lead execution of customer facing web and mobile solutions, working with stakeholders across the enterprise to capture customer problems and develop tools and content to help solve them. Your main interfaces will be with our sales and marketing, go-to-market and product and engineering teams, and you need to be comfortable working with our compliance and legal colleagues to ensure we remain compliant globally. You will need the flexibility to be effective driving strong business outcomes in open-ended processes, as you are when operating in the structure of a sprint team. Regular activities include tracking and reporting against business KPIs, setting targets and building plans to accomplish them, and project managing execution to successful outcomes. A typical day might include commissioning content, critiquing designs, synthesizing the results of multi-variate testing to identify insights, and collating requirements for tools and systems development.

Customer empathy, the ability to scale and think globally, and stakeholder management are keys to succeeding in this role.


Defining KPIs and meeting business targets for customer prospect conversion and activation globally
Defining and overseeing development of customer facing web and mobile experiences targeting prospects and existing customers
Working with stakeholders across the company to ensure the web experience fits the end-to-end customer experience and supports cross-enterprise goals and outcomes
Working with our analyst and research partners to grow our analytical capabilities and establish best practices, define research goals and run multi-variant tests to improve growth KPIs
Working with our platform team to identify platform requirements and required technologies to meet our customer and business goals
Collaborating with other segment Product Managers to ensure the customer experience works holistically

Success in this role requires:

Understanding the customer segment (Consumer, small and medium business, enterprise), specifically their needs and decision-making processes when choosing and using payment providers
Understanding mobile/web growth drivers
Drive for results and leading cross-functional teams
Strong analytical & data skills
Strong understanding of what makes a great customer experience on web and mobile
Inspiring all levels of the organization with product vision and customer passion
Identifying new opportunities based on research, industry trends and best practices and driving innovation
Quantifying the opportunities by continually assessing the needs of the customer, market trends, competitive opportunities and threats
Creating and managing worldwide web roadmaps, prioritization, and constraints to ensure consistent execution of the product lifecycle process from concept to launch
Defining the product and customer experience with high quality requirements / user stories.
Helping the teams move forward swiftly through rigor, speed and transparency in decision-making and removing roadblocks
Ability to identify opportunities in the organization around you (process, people, etc) and drive change to improve

Basic Qualifications:

More than two years of Product Management experience in a top technology company
Strong execution skills and can successfully drive cross functional teams in a matrix organization
Demonstrated success in creating innovative and user-friendly consumer or business products
Passion to seek deep understanding of customer needs and turn the insights into a compelling vision to solve important jobs for customers
