The role:

Our Learning Specialists support new hire and skills-based classes to educate the front-line contact center agents in all the product lines SoFi offers its members. We are looking for those who will engage learners using adult learning methodology and who will develop and motivate new employees in their early tenure as well as providing enhanced learning as they continue their development. The Learning Specialist should expect to work with all levels of management and collaborate with policy writers, and designers to build learning content.

We are seeking someone passionate about facilitating growth and development through regular new hire and skills classes using different methods of learning delivery. Ideally, this person is innovative, collaborative, and willing to run after problems. Learning Specialists work long days made longer by preparation and due diligence. They work closely with others in the department, all levels of management, policy writers, and designers to create a consistent, and efficient learning environment. With these relationships, they link to the learner’s performance and growth to serve our members.

What you’ll do:

  • Facilitate new hire and skills classes to ensure consistent and complete understanding of the programs
  • Planning, coordinating, and conducting learning for new and existing employees
  • Assess, monitor, and report the progress of learners during classroom and self-paced modules
  • Coach and develop learners for improvement and retention
  • Identify performance gaps, root cause, and provide solutions to learning colleagues
  • Research and answer inquiries from learners to improve their knowledge and understanding
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the materials and facilitation based on learner feedback, quality results, and leader evaluation
  • Attend weekly conference calls, workgroups, and other meetings
  • Other duties, as assigned

What you’ll need:

  • Problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Able to prioritize and complete multiple tasks
  • Work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Communicates well and is relatable to Learners; able to build rapport
  • Excellent presentation and classroom facilitation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Slack and Zoom
  • Professional demeanor and attitude
  • Potential travel for multiple weeks at a time
  • Must be willing to work flexible shifts based on class schedules
  • Understanding of adult learning principles, methods, and techniques is preferred

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Excellent business and conversational writing and communications skills
  • 2+ years’ experience in the Learning or Operations
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Understanding of Learning Theories and Instructional Design Models
