Building the world’s leading sound experience starts with the experience we provide for our people. That’s why we’ve been distributed from the start: initially between offices in Boston & Santa Barbara, and now with additional offices in Seattle, San Francisco & Paris. This role can be done from anywhere in the United States- any of our offices, or remotely from home. It’s about impact, not location.
As a Senior Product Manager on the Sonos Consumer Experience team, you will play an important role as an advocate for our users and be a visionary for inventing the future of audio where we follow our passions and commitment to providing sound experiences that move, delight, and inspire listeners. Software is at the very heart of this experience.
You will help to conceive, evangelize and deliver software experiences–large and small–that provide millions of users with rich sound experiences. You’ll work closely with engineers, designers, and data scientists to understand user needs and design next-generation experiences.
We seek a team member with demonstrated experience discovering, defining and evolving a consumer product, ideally in the mobile application space. Our next great PM needs to have a passion for partnering with talented developers and creative designers to build elegant experiences that delight users, and create joyful sound experiences in people’s lives.
What You’ll Do:
Work across teams and with product leadership to depict and communicate a compelling vision for the Sonos experience that delivers on the company mission to help the world listen better.
Create and ensure the delivery of the roadmap for your area of focus — working closely with engineering and design to prioritize investments that deliver value to customers and drive business results.
Gain customer and experience insights from new and existing research, and develop experience hypotheses and experiments grounded in those insights, to reach engagement and growth goals.
Work across Sonos hardware and software teams to create unique and delightful interactions and user flows.
Become the voice of the customer and the champion of your product. You will inspire and align your team and the teams that you depend on.
Inspire product and UX teams at Sonos to reach deeper in building experiences that provide innovative and delightful experiences with sound.
Work effectively across team, discipline, and geographic boundaries to help ensure a culture of transparency, inclusion, diversity of view and perspective and product experiences that reflect those strengths.
What You’ll Need:
3+ years experience in a software product management and/or product marketing
Exceptional interpersonal skills; thrives in highly collaborative projects, effective at building consensus, handles high stakes decisions with ease with the ability to cut through ambiguity
Proven oral and written communication skills; ability to become proficient in technical concepts and explain them to non-technical partners
Strong analytical skills to synthesize product data, user research, and industry analysis to identify real problems that drive customer and business value
Uncompromising attention to detail
Ability to operate seamlessly between highly detailed and technical situations and strategic business situations
Strong at storytelling including the ability to create and deliver compelling presentations
Solid understanding of the full product lifecycle and software development best practices
