  • Work hours are flexible, but meetings are likely to fall within the traditional 8-5 (EST) workday.
  • The salary for this position varies depending on your location (Canada or the US). We’ll share it with you during the intro call.

Hello! I’m Andressa, and I lead our Operations team at Synex Medical. We’re a ~20 person medical device startup that’s developing a miniaturized health monitor that can measure critical blood metabolites non-invasively. That technology is based on novel techniques we’ve developed in magnetic resonance.

We’re on track to deliver our MVP by the end of 2021, which will measure glucose and lactate non-invasively. We are gearing up for some big milestones (series A, clinical validation, MVP delivery). To support these milestones, we’re looking to grow our recruiting team.

In this role, you’d help Emily, our Talent & People Lead, find and connect with candidates for our open positions. It’s important to us that our candidates have an excellent experience at each stage of our hiring process, and you’ll be a part of making that happen!

On a day-to-day basis, here’s what you could expect to do:

  • Create comprehensive and easy-to-read job descriptions (like this one!) for our careers page, job boards, and social media
  • Outreach to candidates with tools like LinkedIn Recruiter and AngelList
  • Review applications and resumes for relevant skills and experience
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with candidates to schedule interviews, gather follow up information, and reject when necessary
  • Conduct informational calls with candidates at the beginning of our interview process

We consider this an entry-level position, and we don’t have specific requirements when it comes to your educational background or work experience. Backgrounds in science, engineering, social services, marketing, and customer service all offer skill sets that would be useful in this position.
