Summary

As a SET, you are a software engineer with a strong test disposition. You should have coding skills that are on par with the software engineers (SWEs) that you will be working with.

You will work closely with development teams to influence testability, taking into account the risks associated with the technology stack being used as well as the design and architecture of the software under test.  You will work to enable software engineers to deliver highly testable and stable code.

You will use your software development and testing expertise to drive improvements in our software design and architecture. You will work closely with your peers in the Quality and Test Engineering and the whole Engineering Productivity team to drive improvements across the Foundation’s development and testing ecosystem. Lending your expertise to your peers, you will enable their success.

You are responsible for:

Design, implement, and support test tooling infrastructure.
Work with software engineers to improve the testability of their code.
Review unit and/or integration tests for completeness.
Work with the development and test engineering teams to automate testing.
Perform code reviews when necessary.
Skills and Experience:

2+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in Test or Software Engineer.
Demonstrated success in improving the testability of code.
Demonstrated knowledge in JavaScript, PHP, HTML5, CSS, and modern web standards including their inherent risk areas.
Experience with unit testing frameworks for Javascript and PHP.
Demonstrated ability to work closely with software engineers.
Experience in ‘refactoring for test’ efforts.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience with containerization technologies like Docker/Kubernetes.
Experience working asynchronously in a globally distributed organization.
Experience with SDLC and Software Quality principles.
Familiarity with FLOSS.
Working knowledge of a language other than English
