Dolores Huerta: She is an Activist and labor leader, she has worked to improve social and economic conditions for farmworkers and to fight discrimination. She created the Agricultural Workers Association (AWA) in 1960 and co-founded what would become the United Farm Workers (UFW). Dolores stepped down from the UFW in 1999, but she continues to be recognized for her efforts to better the working conditions of workers and of humanity in general and has received numerous awards including the Eleanor Roosevelt Award for Human Rights in 1998, the Puffin/Nation Prize for Creative Citizenship in 2002, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012.

Iris Castro: Iris Castro is an Emmy-winning, Senior Content Producer, and host of the Tech/Social Media Segment “Hashtag” at Noticias Telemundo. She is a passionate communicator, a team leader, and a firm believer in the power of storytelling. Iris has worked with NBCUniversal/Telemundo for almost a decade, covering breaking news and producing feature stories from all over the world, especially focused on the Latinx community in the United States. She studied Translation, English Language, and Literature at the University of Havana. Iris loves to read and is a Cuban coffee hardcore fan.

Kim Rivera: She is a graduate of Duke University and Harvard Law School, a strategic advisor, executive, and lawyer with a global perspective, she has more than 25 years of experience working with Fortune 500 companies on corporate strategy and transactions, governance, operations, compliance, risk management, audit, and litigation matters. Kim serves as a director on the boards of Thompson Reuters and Cano Health. She also serves on the boards of the Leadership Council On Legal Diversity and the American Leadership Forum. She is a frequent speaker on diversity and inclusion in corporations and the legal profession, with an emphasis on women in leadership.

Mariana Matus: She is a computational biologist passionate about leveraging big data and analytics to improve human health. During her Ph.D. at MIT, she specialized in the emerging field of wastewater epidemiology. As a co-founder of Biobot Analytics, she aims to build a wastewater epidemiology platform that maps human health in every city in the world. Mariana and her team build the technology to generate health data from sewage accurately, and they make this novel type of data useful to public health and public safety officials., and many more…

  • May 18:

Latinas in Tech Summit kicks off with a look at the state of Latinas Leadership on Tech, followed by a panel session Reshaping the Tech industry and we will feature two keynote sessions: Latins: What We Really Are and Paving the Way: Innovating Latinas in Technology. Additional sessions and workshops include Reshaping the Tech Industry and Why Representation Matters: Becoming an advocate for Latinx talent in Tech

  • May 19:

Latinas in Tech Summit starts the second day with a Panel – The Pandemic and the Digital World: How Latin Talent Confronted the Digital Migration. Continuing with a special keynote speaker about Building from the Beginning: What Mentorship Can Do for Your Sponsorship Relationships, a then Workshop Session Empowering Internally: The Importance of recruiting, advocating, and mentoring amongst Latinas Employees, and more.

  • May 20:

Closing of Latinas in Tech Summit we will open the day with an inspiring Keynote – Braving the Unknown: How Latinas are Paving the Way within NASA, followed by a panel that discusses How Latinx Are or Are not Getting Funds From Venture Capital Funds. Ending the day with our Startup Competition Finale and Brazilian Rhythm!

Startup Competition 2022

The Latinas in Tech Startup Competition aims to discover, support and amplify tech startups with at least one Latina co-founder.

We want to source Latina talent from all over the world and award non-dilutive cash prizes ($20K, $10K, and $5K) to our top three winners. Our ultimate goal is to catalyze the growth of recently founded startups that are determined to become billion-dollar companies.

If you have the aspiration to have your company be a high-growth startup and end up as a billion-dollar company, we strongly encourage you to submit a pitch application by April 1st, 2022 at 11:59 pm PST.
